Shrimp Rotel Dip

The classic Rotel Queso Dip, but made with sausage and shrimp!
The classic Rotel Queso Dip, but made with sausage and shrimp!

Shrimp Rotel Dip

This is a variation of the classic and ever-popular Rotel Queso Dip, with the addition of shrimp and often ground beef, though ground turkey, pork or sausage or even a combination works well too. I personally love it with breakfast sausage the most, over them all!

Most recipes use a larger shrimp, sometimes whole, sometimes chopped up, but I find the small salad sized shrimp to be a perfect choice. There are lots of them in a pound and they're just the right chip size.

After the Boil Seafood Potato Salad

A potato salad, made with leftovers from a seafood boil, using highly seasoned red-skinned potatoes, shrimp, crawfish and crab. Shown here with fried catfish and collards If you didn't have a boil, no worries - you can still make it!

Seafood Potato Salad

What some areas of the country refer to as Frogmore Stew or "low country boils," are simply called seafood boils here in the Deep South, and they might involve shrimp, crawfish or crabs. With access to the best seafood, boils are actually a favorite addition to summer cookouts here along the Gulf Coast, and certainly one of my favorite parties to attend. If there's a boil-master manning a massive outdoor cooker that's loaded with Gulf seafood, I'm definitely in!

Seafood Pasta Salad

This is a great coastal Deep South seafood pasta salad that is pretty common down here, and I love it, although it's more often known as Imitation Crab Salad.

I know, I know... imitation crab seems to scare some folks as if it's some kind of weird, alien substance, pretending to be food, when really, it is generally just a basic mix of Alaskan Pollock, King Crab meat and other seafood, and, it actually works great for salads like this. Personally? I really love it in this pasta salad.

Pickled Shrimp

The Cajun went shrimping last Friday and I spent most of the weekend heading and putting up shrimp. Of course, his favorite way to eat shrimp, hands down, is my crispy Fried Shrimp, so those were on the menu right away! I mean c'mon... the man certainly earned that in the least!

Picante Shrimp Dip

Cream Cheese and Sour Cream Dip with Shrimp and Picante Sauce
A cold dip made with a seasoned cream cheese and sour cream base, with picante sauce and boiled shrimp. Mix everything together, or prepare the base and top with the shrimp and sauce.

Picante Shrimp Dip

This Picante Shrimp Dip recipe was born out of leftovers from that New Orleans Style BBQ Shrimp I posted yesterday.  Besides being a lover of all things dip related, I especially love cooking once and getting multiple meals out of something.

Cajun Potato Salad

Cajun Potato Salad

What is Cajun Potato Salad? There is no real definition for it that I can find, and in fact, most people just make a typical southern style potato salad, add a bit of spicy mustard and Cajun or Creole seasoning, and call that Cajun Potato Salad. Well, I decided I needed to remedy this!

Shrimp Boulettes - Deep Fried Shrimp Balls or Pan-Fried Patties {Boulette de Crevettes}

Shrimp boulettes, or bullets as my husband affectionately calls them, are a mixture of minced shrimp, potatoes and veggies, formed into patties or balls and fried, are great as a main dish, side dish and a favorite alongside a bowl of beans.

Shrimp Boulettes

Okay. I will admit it. Shrimp boulettes fried up this way is decidedly not the healthiest way to consume shrimp - you can see that just from looking at it! But... you know better than to come here for that anyway, don't ya?

Shrimp Remoulade

A popular appetizer, shrimp remoulade is simply cold shrimp, doused in remoulade sauce and generally spread over a simple bed of crisp lettuce. That's pretty much it, because the tangy, spicy remoulade sauce speaks for itself.

Shrimp and Iceberg Lettuce Salad

Shrimp and Iceberg Lettuce Salad

This is my version of what my mother and father-in-law and The Cajun call shrimp salad and I absolutely love it, even though I struggled with what to call it myself, since when I think of shrimp salad, I think of the shrimp and egg salad I grew up with and love so much.

Shrimp with Bow Tie Pasta Salad

This pasta salad recipe for shrimp with bow tie pasta is hands down one of my summertime favorites, but honestly it is great for any time of the year. It's a great dish to make when you need something for a potluck, church social, and any party you have in mind.

Cajun Shrimp Spread and Dip

Cajun Shrimp Dip is such a delicious addition for any party or gathering.

It's great with tortilla chips, corn chips, crackers, or even spread on bread. Make it a day ahead if you can, because the flavor only improves, but try to at least chill it for an hour or so at the very least, letting it come to room temperature before serving.

Shrimp and Egg Salad

A favorite egg salad, made very simply with the addition of shrimp, green onion, celery and mayonnaise. Serve with crackers, as a sandwich, or stuffed into a tomato. Light and delicious!

Shrimp and Egg Salad

Today's post is a 4-in-one. They sort of all went together so rather than reserve them for different days, I thought that I would post them all together at the same time. Click each link below to visit them all.

First we have Absolutely Perfect Shrimp & Crab Boil, followed by a yummy Easy Cocktail Sauce and a Speedy White Rémoulade Sauce for dipping, and then well, what else does one do when one has leftover boiled shrimp?

What a great, relaxing, wonderful weekend this has been! I hope all of y'all had a great one too - and maybe even an extra day off of work tomorrow?

The fireworks display for the 4th was just simply beautiful. I tell you what ... there is nothing like having a front row seat right on the Gulf of Mexico to watch those colorful explosions of light.

Baked Shrimp Stuffed Pistolettes

Lawdy mercy, are those good.

Remember those pistolette rolls that I made the other day? Well, I specifically set aside a couple of them so that I could make some stuffed pistolettes. And I gotta tell ya, those rolls are so darned good, it sure wasn't easy to keep any until I got around to these! When I make a batch of them they never last long. Thank goodness they are so easy to make!

Seafood Appetizer Bread with Crab and Shrimp

French bread, topped with a creamy white sauce with Parmesan and Swiss cheeses and tossed with shrimp and crab, baked and then finished with a sprinkle of pepper jack cheese.

Seafood Appetizer Bread with Crab and Shrimp

This is just a bit of a different take on my Beefy Pizza Bread by bringing in some seafood elements with the use of crab and shrimp.

Now if you have access to fresh shrimp and crab, absolutely use those, but you can use frozen already cooked shrimp and canned crab if that's what you have access to. I did decide this one needed a creamy base to it though, so the sauce is much different from the pizza bread.

This would be an unexpected and delicious surprise for any party menu, so include it on your menu and watch it disappear! Here's how to make it.
