Garlic Cheddar Drop Biscuits

Since I still had some baking mix in the pantry, leftover from my annual holiday sausage cheese balls, I thought it'd be a good time to use some to publish these drop biscuits with garlic and cheese. These yummy biscuits were made famous by Red Lobster restaurant's Cheddar Bay Biscuit of course, and the multitude of copycat recipes that resulted from it. This is the copycat version that I ended up with after a few trials.

Sour Cream 7-up Biscuits

These are a super tender, light, and melt in your mouth biscuit perfect for a slather of butter, wrapping around slices of salty ham, or spooning over with sausage gravy or tomato gravy.

The texture of these are just a bit different from old fashioned buttermilk biscuits, more soft and creamy, with a touch of sweet.

Baking Mix Yeast Biscuits

Now, we Southerners love yeast breads, no doubt, but biscuits ... light, fluffy, lovely biscuits are just near about a staple down South and by default, my most favorite biscuit is my own homemade.

Trust me when I say this - if you think you can't make perfect, fluffy biscuits, you can! Go here and put my biscuit secrets to work, and you'll have perfect biscuits every time.

Old Fashioned Sausage Cheese Balls

Old fashioned sausage cheese balls have been around for many years, and though some folks like to slam them for being unsophisticated, they have always been a good ole stand-by for any gathering or party that I've ever attended. They appeared on the tables of every single shower or wedding that Mama and her sisters ever catered. So easy to make, tasty and everybody loves them! And super simple ingredients too - in their purist form, simply baking mix (I prefer Pioneer brand buttermilk version), cheese and sausage. I've add a few seasonings, and it's always sharp cheese and Jimmy Dean hot sausage for me!
