Classic Lasagna

Lasagna is one of the best loved casseroles there is. Even on the All Recipes website, the all-time, most popular recipe is what's called "World's Best Lasagna," which turns out to be pretty much the same as my recipe, my Mama's recipe, and likely I'd guess, pretty similar to just about every other good, homemade lasagna in the world, really.

Even that recipe has a striking resemblance to the McCalls 1973 cookbook recipe, that I'm certain many homemakers adopted as their own at the time.

Shortcut Lasagna

There is nothing that can touch a homemade lasagna. Nothing. And let me tell you, when it's made with a sauce made from homegrown, backyard summer tomatoes, it is out of this world. But, like a good classic ziti, it's a labor of love from beginning to end and takes hours. Is it worth it?

You bet it is!

But the time factor pretty much relegates it to being a day off or weekend kind of meal.

Super Easy Beef, Andouille and Mushroom Lasagna

Baked lasagna, layered with pasta sauce, ground beef, and andouille smoked sausage, seasoned with the trinity and a creamy sauce, finished with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Beef, Andouille and Mushroom Lasagna

Lasagna can be a bit daunting to prepare, so I have to give a shout-out to Campbell's for this amazingly easy and super delicious lasagna recipe, made with ground beef, andouille sausage and mushrooms.

It's no secret that Campbell's soups are a regular pantry item in this household - we in the south love our southern béchamel sauce - otherwise known to the rest of y'all as Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup!

Skillet Lasagna

I love baked lasagna. You just can't beat it, especially when made with a homemade fresh tomato meat sauce. If you have only ever had lasagna from a jarred pasta sauce, you really need to treat yourself sometime! Of course, you can also make a great sauce using the convenience of canned tomatoes.

Take that same basic method to the skillet and you have an amazing meal, with all the flavor, but that's done in no time.
